Weather Wreaking Havoc on the 2011 Lacrosse Season

playing in snow
The weather gods have not been kind to our Minnesota lacrosse season in 2011.  Several games have been canceled, practices have been canceled and games have been played in snow, high winds and driving rain.  Check out the nasty weather Fargo had in their first lacrosse game ever in the photo from the preview below.  Nasty!  Lacrosse is a sport that can be played in any weather condition, but the conditions we've had so far this season have been ridiculous.  Hopefully teams will make up their canceled games and practices can be added.  Feel free to comment on this post and give us your Minnesota lacrosse nasty 2011 weather story.  Here's to good weather for the remainder of the season!

  1. Reference the Fargo game on Friday, you can see a bit of splash in the photo, the TV video, every step was a splash, the creases were swamps, most of the kids were hypothermic by the end of the game. The next day the weather was nice but the field was a muddy mess. Looking forward to playing on grass this weekend and only having to deal with grass stains and maybe a little sunburn

  2. Yes it was very cold and wet in Fargo, but I had a blast playing in the rain on that sloppy field. It makes the game more interesting. And you always have to think that if you're freezing cold, so is the guy across from you, so you just have to keep battling. The guys I was riding with and me rode half way home in our boxers until we warmed up and dried off haha.
