The Duluth-Superior 7/8 grade lacrosse team picked up its first two wins of the season on Saturday at the Delano, MN lacrosse jamboree. The young Chargers faced Elk River in game one. After a slow first half the Chargers poured it on in the second half to win the game 10-3. The young Chargers did a nice job controlling the ball on the offensive side of the field for much of the game.
In game two, the Chargers faced St. Michael-Albertville. After jumping out to an early lead, the young St. Michael-Albertville team fought back to tie it up 4-4 late in the game. A late goal by the Chargers and the defense held with a man down to close the game out with a 5-4 win.
The 7/8 Duluth-Superior Chargers next games will take place next weekend in Sartell, MN where they'll face St. Cloud and MontiQuois 2.
*FULL DISCLOSURE - It should be noted that the author of this blog has a vested interest in the 7/8 Chargers lacrosse team as his son plays on this team. We'll certainly try to be as impartial as possible throughout the season and we will provide as much coverage to other northern Minnesota lacrosse teams as we possibly can. While the blog may be somewhat Duluth-centric since we live here, we will post anything - highlights, game recaps, statistics, scores, for all northern Minnesota teams as long as the information is provided. We're excited for all northern lacrosse teams and look forward to seeing all of the teams grow and improve.
